The Legend of fastfoodlegend
An exhaustive history of the intentionally stupid work that got us here.
fastfoodlegend actually began back in 2021 and for a long time it was a completely different type of TikTok account…
This is what my kitchen floor used to look like. My kitchen doubled as my studio. Those are all ripped open condiment packets. I could go on, and I will…
Last year I had met with a gallery consultant to help me pitch the idea of a gallery show of my work. Here’s an example of one of my works, it’s 350 KFC sauces painted onto a KFC bucket that’s been staged:
After speaking with the consultant and being instructed to make a proposal, it occurred to me that I really had no sense of where I had been or where I was going with any of this because it had been such an exhausting whirlwind for four years. I spent a few days cataloging old photos and then recording all of my memories about what had happened. My throat was killing me and I was burning through cough drops and tea but I got it all recorded.
From there I was able to write the proposal but I ran out of money making my animated series (https://magicbananashow.com) and couldn’t afford to hire her again. I was also kind of stuck on the fact that she didn’t seem particularly eager to work on the project and I was in no position to spend money I didn’t have on something that just wasn’t working out.
This left me with an AI generated transcript of my recordings about the history of fastfoodlegend that I’d used as a bible to help me write the proposal itself. Now I had hundreds of pages of useful documents with no immediate use for them.
I put it all away and moved on for a few months. With all of the recent changes in fastfoodlegend’s content (starting back in February), I still wanted to do something with this crazy story that I had.
This is not the complete version, only my original recordings (where you can hear me gasping for air and sucking on cough drops and swigging tea), but I think it’s kind of endearing in a weird yet authentic way.
I’ve cleaned up the audio as best I can and I’ve posted it as a 9 part podcast on YouTube, it runs about five or six or seven hours, I haven’t even timed it. It’s a little glimpse into just one of the crazy things I got into in the last few years but it’s rare that I ever share the whole story like this. I hope that you enjoy it!

And here are some of the pages from the proposal in case you own a gallery and want to present a truly unique show that will get people talking…
Just a heads up, the magic banana show link has a typo
